This fun event will be held at Ocean Side Catering, a Newport business and graduate of the Association's MicroBusiness Training Program. Owners of Ocean Side Catering, Michael Lalli and David Downes will cater the event that takes place from 1:00 - 3:00pm. Ocean Side Catering is located at 66 Broadway, Newport, RI. Last year, the event was held at the Rhode Island State House where Governor Donald Carcieri signed a proclamation declaring March 18, 2003 as Rhode Island MicroEnterprise Day. The Rhode Island MicroEnterprise Association, Inc. is excited to be a sponsor for the 15th Annual Business Expo at the Rhode Island Convention Center on April 7 & 8! The Expo is New England's largest business-to-business exposition! Over 20,000 business professionals attend over the course of two days. This event will feature keynote speakers, Tim Russert, Moderator of NBC's "Meet the Press," and Greg Gumbel, 3-time Emmy Award winner and CBS Sports broadcaster. The Business Expo features over 400 Rhode Island and regional businesses. Don't miss this year's Business Expo! MICROENTERPRISE WORKS WITH COMMUNITY SERVICE STUDENTS FROM JOHNSON & WALES UNIVERSITY Three students from the Feinstein Graduate School of Johnson & Wales University have been working with the Rhode Island MicroEnterprise Association, Inc. in a community service project to contact Rhode Island's 39 cities and towns economic development offices and acquire information on the resources they have to offer a new or existing business, contact information, and office location. This information will be consolidated and published later this year. The three students working with Ann Marie Marshall, CEO/State Director of the Association, are Minerva Thomas, Adeyinka Areago, and Natasha Chittick. "I have enjoyed working with all three students because they have each brought their own entrepreneurial spirit and energy to the project." - Ann Marie Marshall, CEO/State Director. CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR NEW MICROBUSINESS GRADUATES! The Rhode Island MicroEnterprise Association, Inc. congratulates the graduates of the MicroBusiness Training Program held on January 17 and 24 at the Cranston Public Library. Those completing the program are Raymond Blais, Linda Cline, Jeff Boyer, Erin Boyer, Savade Eung, and Hour Eung. This class was taught by MicroBusiness Trainer, Matthew G. Kenney. Congratulations! Congratulations also to the graduates of the Project Hope/Proyecto Esperanza classes taught by Katherine Aguirre, MicroBusiness Trainer, held on January 13, 20, 27, and February 3. The graduates are as follows: Carmen Medina, Maria Vasquex, Ruben Dario Castro, Luis Escobar, Jorge Barneond, and Ylda Padilla. Congratulations! A class held at the Warwick Public Library on February 4, 9, and 11, was taught by MicroBusiness Trainer and Development Director, Kenneth Proudfoot. There were 6 graduates, including Karen Senerchia, Lori Baker, Theodore Hamelin, Bob Schoenberg, Helia Martin, and Paula J. Radick. Congratulations! The recent MicroBusiness Training class, held at the International Institute of Rhode Island, included 13 graduates on Saturday February 21! The class was led by Matthew G. Kenney, MicroBusiness Trainer. Graduates included Beverly Estrezca, Bosebe Akerebolu, Evelyn E. Batista, Christelle D'Haiti, Rami Asherov, Becky Coustan, Betty Crawford, Adeyinka Areago, Elizabeth Mogaji, Osvaldo Mercado, Raquel Mercado, Cruz Hernandez, and Annette Rios. Congratulations!
