January, 2007
Ann Marie Marshall - CEO / State Director

The U.S. Congress and the President of the United States have declared the week of February 24- March 3, 2007 as the country's first annual entrepreneurship week celebration called EntrepreneurshipWeek USA.

The Rhode Island MicroEnteprise Association has been designated as the Rhode Island coordinator for a series of events, media activities, and presentations to draw attention to the important role entrepreneurs have played in the development and financial success of the United States. This week-long event will also encourage the teaching, creation and nurturing of the next generation of entrepreneurs.

The Rhode Island MicroEnterprise Association is the state's largest training and business development organization for home-based and microbusiness owners. The Association also operates the state's largest Youth Entrepreneurship Program in high schools and other institutions statewide as well as delivering workshops in the annual summer Youth Leadership Forum.

The Association represents Rhode Island at the national level through the Consortium for Entrepreneurial Education and serves as the state liaison for promoting entrepreneurship education across the curriculum and throughout the state economy.

The Association can provide members of the news media with access to Rhode Island entrepreneurs and small business owners to help highlight the importance of their entrepreneurial activities in stimulating economic activity, creating jobs, and strengthening communities.

If you would like to spotlight Rhode Island's entrepreneurs and their entrepreneurial activities and help us to celebrate their important role, please contact us today.
